Look at the gorgeous socks my Sockapalooza 4 pal, Ellen (who seems to be blog-free), made for me!
Aren't they completely beautiful? She used Dream in Color Smooshy sock yarn in what looks like the Nightwatch colorway and a lovely lacey pattern with cable-like detail (which she chose because she noticed how much I like cables!).
Here are some more views of them:
I couldn't be more pleased!
But wait... there's more!
Bonus socks which Ellen had made for herself, but turned out too big for her! She had hoped they would fit me, but, alas, they're a bit too long in the foot. She told me to re-gift them if they didn't fit, but I love the socks (done in a lovely, soft cotton sock yarn - great for summer), so I'm considering performing a little toe surgery to make them fit. They have a wonderful cuff pattern, and the salmon, raspberry, and blue striping is such fun to look at!
It turns out that Ellen is from Austin, Texas, and she wanted to share a little piece of it with me:
What a deliciously scented piece it is! In her note she explained:
"That soap is handmade locally and is a combination of all the things that are best about south Austin."
She went on:
"Please enjoy. You may find the odd dog or cat hair/fur... I have 3 dogs and 4 cats, so it's a bit hard to keep completely beast free in my house. Happy Sock Day, Ellen"
Well, that sounds familiar (here a hair, there a hair, everywhere a cat hair)...
Thanks so much, Ellen! (What a fantastic sock pal!)
P.S. Bug and Moana are on strike for the day, so no goofy kitty pictures - but don't worry, there will be more in the future...

Lucky you! The socks are just perfect. Why are Bug and Moana on strike ;-)?
Those are beautiful! You may have the best pal ever. :-)
Really lovely, and how nice to get a bonus pair as well! Dream in Color is one of my new fave yarns, such an array of striking colors and the yarn really is smooshy!
Great socks! Both pairs. :-)
I am so jealous! Those socks look great!!! I just had a chance to pet the Dream in Color yarn, one of my SnBers brought hers in and let me drool all over it... :D what a nice pal you have.
Those are both lovely pairs of socks. You are lucky to have such a kind pal.
What a cute sock and pal. You are one lucky girl.
Wow those socks are wonderful. i love the deep blue color and it goes so well with the pattern. You are lucky to get such a great sock pal.
Wow! Lucky you!! And beautiful job Ellen! Those socks are gorgeous! I've been hearing a lot about the Smooshy recently. I'll have to go check it out once my yarn diet is over :)
What a great pair of socks, shame the shorties a little too long. I wish I had smell-a-web so I could sniff the soap!!
You scored on your sock pal! Lovely blue socks...and a kicky extra pair, too. Nice.
What gorgeous socks! You are one lucky gal! I do love the pattern on the blue socks -- please let me know what it is if/when you find out.

What...cats on strike? Can't be? NOOOOO
Those socks are divine. Beautiful pattern!
Wow- those socks are gorgeous- that blue is amazing! I guess it's only fair that Bug and Moana have a day off periodically... ;)

Fabulous socks!
Wow! Nice haul! That Dream in Color sock yarn rocks!
Great socks! And 2 pairs, congrats!
Beautiful color on those blue socks! I've just begun to look into sock knitting -- I'm an absolute beginner -- but I'll keep that yarn in mind.
Gregor and Emma send solidarity to the striking cat workers of the world! {and their making strange paw gestures.... Should I be worried?}
Beautiful socks! What a lucky paloozer :)
You're so lucky! The socks are beautiful! (I'm starting to feel sorry for my sock pal... I must say the socks I sent were not my best, sob!)
